João successfully graduated from The Hague University Of Applied Sciences, where he graduated from International & European Law program specializing in Public International Law and Human Rights Law.

The works of Henri Cartier Bresson, Robert Capa, Tim Hetherington, James Nachtwey, Henri Matisse, Francisco Goya had a powerful effect on him, becoming instrumental for his decision to work professionally as a storyteller.
